2375. The Hermit
by 1289. Aly Fell

Barbara Moore says of this card in the Steampunk Tarot:

All tarot readers have cards that they identify with. The Hermit has always been one of mine. This card is about finding your own truth, about taking everything you've learned, read, or heard and comparing it to the core truth in you heart. Whatever measures up is kept. Whatever doesn't is left behind. Hermits traditionally withdraw from society, sometimes for the whole of their lives but in our lives, we play the Hermit for a while and then return to our daily lives to incorporate what we've learned.

This Hermit, standing on top of the landfill of his learning, is looking out over London, the setting of his daily life, getting ready to return, lighting his way with the truths that he has discovered.
